Indian electric two-wheeler manufacturer Simple Energy has expanded its deployment of Siemens’ cloud-based software to strengthen product engineering capabilities and manage the rising complexity of its growing vehicle portfolio.
The company is deepening its use of the Siemens Xcelerator portfolio by adopting Teamcenter X for product lifecycle management (PLM) alongside Designcenter X for advanced vehicle design and engineering. This builds on its earlier implementation of Teamcenter X and aims to streamline complex variant design, accelerate development cycles, and support faster product delivery as Simple Energy scales its electric vehicle (EV) range.
Simple Energy first introduced Teamcenter X to create a centralized product data backbone and improve collaboration among engineering teams. As its EV programs matured, the manufacturer extended the platform to handle enterprise-level bills of materials (BOMs) and variant configuration. It now employs a “150 percent BOM” approach—a master configurable BOM that includes all possible components, options, and variants for a product family. From this, Teamcenter X generates specific 100 percent BOMs tailored to individual customer orders, enabling efficient management of multiple vehicle configurations
To tackle increasing design and assembly complexity, Simple Energy has replaced its legacy 3D CAD software with Siemens’ Designcenter X. The new tool integrates seamlessly with Teamcenter X and supports advanced surface design, high-performance handling of large assemblies, and 3D electrical routing and harness design. This integrated digital engineering environment helps teams work more efficiently while maintaining control over intricate product structures.

Matthew Thomas, vice president and managing director for India at Siemens Digital Industries Software, noted that the collaboration provides Simple Energy with an integrated engineering thread that supports its growth targets.
The expanded adoption underscores how scalable, cloud-based solutions from Siemens Xcelerator can help EV makers build a stronger digital foundation, drive innovation, and sustain long-term expansion in a competitive market. For Simple Energy, the move positions the company to deliver more sophisticated electric two-wheelers with greater speed and precision as demand for clean mobility continues to rise in India.
