Nissan has announced the launch of the new Pixo – a small electric vehicle intended for the European market. The cars will start to arrive in customer hands in early 2027, with the company set to share pricing, regional specifications, and preorder information from December. Joining the Leaf and Micra EVs, the new Pixo will be built in Slovenia at the Novo Mesto factory. The A-segment model offers a high level of functionality while being easy to drive in the city and designed to provide greater flexibility to owners. The length of the car is 3,796 mm with the width of 1,790 mm, while the wheelbase is 2,492 mm, and the minimum turning radius is less than 9.9 meters.
It can accommodate four adults and offers the option to slide the rear seats to gain additional legroom or free up more space in the boot. The car provides a claimed class-leading boot space of 356 liters with seats in place, including a 50-liter underfloor storage for carrying charging equipment. Meanwhile, this space grows to 1,221 liters when the rear seats are folded down, while the car also features additional storage space inside the cabin of around 18 liters.
At the heart of the new Pixo, there is a 27.5 kWh lithium-iron-phosphate traction battery pack. It is the first LFP battery to be fitted to a Nissan vehicle sold in Europe, while the car uses a front-mounted electric motor putting out 60 kW of power. Officially, the WLTP range is of up to 259 km. Combined with 50 kW DC onboard chargers as standard, which allows the car to charge from 15 to 80 percent in around 28 minutes, and a 22 kW bi-directional charger for home use. Additionally, the car features a single-pedal drive system for easier use in slow-moving traffic.
The new car also features a modern and intuitive cockpit to keep the driver engaged. The car has a 7-inch digital instrument cluster and a 10-inch infotainment system with Google services built into it. It is the first car in its class to offer Google Gemini availability on launch. It offers voice control in 16 languages and dialects and can understand and retain the context of the conversation across different sessions. With Face ID recognition, drivers can personalize their settings intuitively, while the MyNissan app lets them control and monitor the car remotely. As for driver assistance systems, the new Pixo features automated emergency braking, lane-keeping support, adaptive cruise control with stop-go function, and hands-free parking.
The new electric car was developed by Nissan and shares some of its components with other models in the Renault Group. This way, the Alliance partners could launch a new car and meet the needs of the local market. With its excellent functionality and standard equipment, the new Pixo will be ideal for owners who want to maximize their experience with a small electric vehicle from Nissan.
