Kinetic Engineering Limited has announced an additional investment of approximately Rs 57 crore aimed at strengthening both its traditional automotive components business and its electric vehicle ambitions. The fresh capital is being raised through the final tranche of conversion of 44.51 lakh warrants issued to promoters in March 2025. Following this transaction, the promoter group’s shareholding in the company has risen from 50 per cent to 69.27 per cent over the past four years, underscoring continued confidence in the group’s long-term strategy.
Of the total outlay, around Rs 17 crore will be allocated to capital expenditure at Kinetic’s manufacturing facilities. This investment will support newly secured driveline export contracts destined for Europe and Mexico. The long-term orders are valued at approximately Rs 500 crore and will be executed over a seven-year period, providing a steady revenue stream for the company’s automotive components division. The remaining Rs 40 crore will be channelled into Kinetic Watts and Volts, the group’s electric mobility subsidiary, to fund product development, supply-chain expansion and the rapid build-out of its retail network.
Kinetic Watts and Volts recently relaunched the iconic Kinetic DX and DX+ electric scooters, which feature a 3.1 kWh lithium-iron-phosphate battery and deliver a claimed IDC range of up to 132 km. To support growing demand, the company has signed letters of intent with more than 150 dealers across India. Of these, over 60 touchpoints are already operational, each offering integrated sales, service and spares facilities.
The subsidiary is targeting a place among the top-ten electric two-wheeler brands in India as the market continues to expand, with overall EV penetration in the two-wheeler segment projected to reach 26 per cent by FY 2030.Ajinkya Firodia, Vice Chairman and Managing Director of Kinetic Engineering, said the company is entering an exciting phase of growth with strong momentum across both its automotive components and electric mobility businesses. With continued investments in capacity, technology and the retail network, the group is focused on scaling both verticals and establishing Kinetic as a leading and enduring player in India’s electric mobility landscape.
