Hero MotoCorp, India’s largest two-wheeler manufacturer, is preparing for a major product offensive in FY27. The company is set to launch new Vida electric scooters, refreshed Xoom scooters, and several premium motorcycle offerings as it looks to strengthen its presence across multiple growing segments.
While commuter motorcycles continue to form the backbone of Hero’s sales, the company is shifting focus towards high-growth areas including electric vehicles, premium motorcycles, and higher-capacity two-wheelers. This strategic push aims to reduce dependence on entry-level commuter bikes and capture greater value and market share in the evolving Indian two-wheeler industry.
A key pillar of Hero’s future strategy revolves around its electric scooter brand — Vida. The company plans to significantly ramp up production capacity and is targeting nearly three times higher EV output by the end of calendar year 2026. Hero expects electric scooters to contribute a much larger portion of its overall sales in the coming years. The company is optimistic about the long-term potential of EVs and believes that by the end of this decade, electric scooters could account for more than 50 per cent of its total scooter volumes.
New Launches Expected in FY27Hero is expected to introduce:
- New and updated Vida electric scooters
- Fresh iterations of the popular Xoom scooter range
- Multiple new premium motorcycles
These launches will complement Hero’s existing portfolio and help the company compete more effectively against rivals like Ola Electric, TVS, Ather, Bajaj, and Honda in both electric and premium internal combustion engine (ICE) segments.
Hero MotoCorp’s aggressive expansion plan reflects its confidence in the rapid growth of the Indian electric two-wheeler market as well as rising demand for stylish and feature-rich premium scooters and motorcycles. By investing heavily in new products and manufacturing capacity, the company aims to future-proof its business and maintain leadership in the world’s largest two-wheeler market.
This strategic shift is likely to play a crucial role in Hero’s journey towards sustainable and profitable growth in the years ahead.
