The Indian electric vehicle (EV) market is set to welcome a dedicated commercial player as exclusive images of the production-ready VinFast Limo Green electric taxi have surfaced. Following the recent launch of the premium VF MPV 7 (priced starting at ₹24.49 lakh), VinFast is now pivoting toward the high-volume fleet and taxi segment with this more affordable, purpose-built variant.
While the Limo Green is built on the same architecture as the VF MPV 7, spied images reveal several key design departures intended to separate the fleet model from its private-use sibling:
- Distinct Branding: Most notably, the Limo Green features a different logo—a thicker “V” with a bold central dot—unlike the sleek, minimalist “V” found on the VF MPV 7.
- Tailgate Identity: The rear of the vehicle carries “LIMO GREEN” lettering on the lower right-hand side of the tailgate, integrated into a full-width piano black trim.
- Functional Wheels: The taxi version swaps the 19-inch alloys seen on higher VF MPV 7 trims for a more practical 18-inch wheel design optimized for durability and range.
Interior and Features: Optimized for Utility
To achieve a price point significantly lower than the VF MPV 7, VinFast has opted for a “minimalist” approach for the Limo Green. The dual-tone premium cabin of the private version is replaced by a more practical all-black interior. Key interior highlights include:
- Seating: Fabric upholstery is standard, featuring a 7-seater layout with adjustable headrests across all rows.
- Tech: A 10.1-inch floating touchscreen remains the center of the dashboard, providing essential connectivity and navigation for drivers.
- Safety: Despite the fleet focus, the Limo Green is expected to come with six standard airbags, ensuring it meets robust safety requirements for commercial operation.
- Space: Practicality remains a priority, offering 100 liters of boot space with all seats up, expandable to 515 liters with the third row folded.
Mechanically, the Limo Green shares its DNA with the VF MPV 7. It is expected to utilize the same 60.13 kWh battery pack, paired with a front-axle electric motor generating approximately 204 hp and 280 Nm of torque.
The Limo Green is targeting a real-world range of over 450–500 km (MIDC), making it a formidable rival to the BYD eMax 7 and the upcoming Kia Carens EV. Crucially for fleet operators, its 80 kW DC fast charging capability allows the battery to go from 10% to 70% in just 30 minutes
The Limo Green will carry a separate ARAI certification specifically for commercial use. While the VF MPV 7 has already begun reaching showrooms, the Limo Green is slated for a release in the coming weeks. By pricing it below the ₹24.49 lakh mark, VinFast aims to attract large-scale taxi aggregators and hotel chauffeur services looking for a low-maintenance, electric alternative to the traditional Toyota Innova
