Tata Motors, India’s largest electric vehicle (EV) automaker, is gearing up for the much-awaited launch of the Tata Sierra EV this month. The electric version of the revived Sierra nameplate will join Tata’s growing portfolio of SUVs, blending retro styling with modern EV technology
The company has showcased the Sierra EV multiple times, building significant excitement among enthusiasts. Recent spy shots and official teasers confirm that the production model is nearly ready, with a launch expected in the April-June quarter of 2026. Sources indicate it could roll out as early as mid-to-late June.
The Sierra EV will sit below the Harrier EV in Tata’s electric SUV range, targeting buyers seeking a premium yet accessible lifestyle-oriented vehicle. It will be produced at Tata’s Sanand facility in Gujarat, alongside its ICE sibling.
Expect a modern reinterpretation of the classic Sierra’s boxy, rugged silhouette with EV-specific touches such as a closed-off grille, sleek LED lighting signatures (including signature Night Saber LEDs), and aerodynamic elements for better efficiency. The design promises a bold, adventurous stance that pays homage to the original while looking thoroughly contemporary.
Expected Features and Specifications
- Battery and Range: Dual battery options are likely, including 55-65 kWh and up to 75 kWh packs, targeting a real-world range of around 400-500 km on a single charge.

Tata Motors continues to dominate the Indian EV market with a significant share. The Sierra EV launch follows recent updates like the Punch EV facelift and will further strengthen the company’s offerings across multiple segments. It completes a comprehensive electric SUV lineup that includes the Nexon EV, Curvv EV, and Harrier EV.
With growing demand for stylish, feature-rich electric SUVs in India, the Sierra EV is poised to attract buyers who value heritage design combined with zero-emission mobility and advanced technology.
