The electric two-wheeler (e2w) industry in India is experiencing explosive growth, with record monthly sales driven by soaring fuel prices, government incentives, and increasing environmental awareness. Buyers are increasingly shifting from petrol-powered models to cleaner, more economical EVs. However, the segment remains heavily skewed toward electric scooters, which account for approximately 95% of total e2w sales. The electric motorcycle category is still in its early stages, constrained by limited options, higher price points, and range anxiety. This imbalance is expected to change rapidly as major manufacturers roll out performance-oriented electric motorcycles tailored for Indian roads and riding conditions.
