The Tata Sierra EV is shaping up to be one of the most feature-packed electric SUVs in the midsize segment. It will position itself above the recently launched Curvv EV in Tata’s electric portfolio, offering a more spacious and premium experience when it arrives in showrooms before the end of June 2026.

The Sierra EV will sit between the Curvv EV and the larger Harrier EV, targeting buyers seeking a traditional SUV stance with modern electric performance. It is expected to be available with both single-motor (RWD) and dual-motor (AWD) configurations. Higher variants will likely get the dual-motor all-wheel-drive setup for better performance and traction

Tata is also expected to offer multiple battery pack options, potentially including the 55 kWh unit from the Curvv EV for base variants and a larger pack for higher trims, aiming for a real-world range competitive in the segment.

The Tata Sierra EV promises a comprehensive feature list that will make it stand out in its price bracket:

  • Triple-Screen Dashboard: A striking three-screen layout spanning the dashboard for driver display, infotainment, and passenger functions — making it one of the first Tata models to get this premium setup.
  • Bidirectional Charging: Support for Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) and possibly Vehicle-to-Vehicle (V2V) capabilities, allowing the SUV to power external devices or even other EVs.
  • Dual-Motor AWD: For superior acceleration and all-weather capability in top variants.
  • Additional expected features include Level 2 ADAS, panoramic sunroof, ventilated seats, premium audio, 360-degree camera, and advanced connected car technology.

Tata is expected to price the Sierra EV competitively, with a starting price of around ₹18.5 lakh (ex-showroom). This aggressive positioning will allow it to challenge rivals like the Mahindra BE 6 while offering strong value with its spacious cabin, retro-modern design, and rich specifications. Top variants could go up to the mid-₹25 lakh range.

Building on the iconic Sierra name, the EV version retains signature design elements like the wraparound rear glass while adopting a sleek closed-off EV front with connected lighting. It offers a more upright and family-friendly stance compared to the coupe-like Curvv EV, making it ideal for buyers who want both style and practicality. With its blend of retro charm, modern electric powertrain, and extensive features, the Tata Sierra EV is poised to strengthen Tata’s dominance in the Indian EV market. As the launch approaches (widely expected in May 2026), anticipation is high for what could be one of the most balanced electric SUVs of the year.
