JSW MG Motor India is preparing to unveil its latest electric SUV tomorrow, marking the debut of the first vehicle built on the company’s new ADAPT architecture. Expected to carry the Hector Hawk badge, the all-new model is confirmed to offer a three-row seating layout and will expand MG’s presence in the growing mid-size electric SUV segment. The pure-electric version will arrive first, with a plug-in hybrid derivative planned to follow in the coming months.
The ADAPT platform, short for Advanced Drive Architecture Platform Technology, represents a significant step for JSW MG Motor India. Designed as a flexible multi-powertrain foundation, it can support pure electric, plug-in hybrid, strong hybrid and range-extender configurations on a common modular base. By launching the Hector Hawk EV first, the company is demonstrating the platform’s readiness for battery-electric applications while keeping the door open for additional electrified variants that address different customer needs and usage patterns.
Based on the globally available Wuling Starlight 560, the Indian-market Hector Hawk is expected to stretch beyond 4.7 metres in length and provide seating for seven occupants in a 2+3+2 arrangement. The electric version is anticipated to use a substantial battery pack paired with a front-mounted motor, targeting a competitive claimed range that positions it against established rivals in the three-row EV space. Styling cues point to a bold, upright SUV presence with distinctive lighting signatures, flared wheel arches and practical features suited to Indian family buyers.
The decision to introduce the pure EV ahead of the plug-in hybrid allows MG to capitalise on rising demand for zero-emission vehicles while preparing a petrol-electric option for customers who still require greater flexibility for longer journeys. Pre-bookings have already opened, signalling strong interest ahead of the official reveal. As the first product on ADAPT, the Hector Hawk EV will play a pivotal role in shaping JSW MG Motor India’s future new-energy lineup and in establishing the brand more firmly in the competitive three-row SUV market.
