Lexus has officially unveiled the TZ, its first-ever all-electric three-row SUV. Positioned as a premium electric family hauler, the 2027 Lexus TZ combines luxury, space, performance, and impressive range to compete in the growing three-row EV segment.

The new Lexus TZ measures over five metres in length (approximately 5,100 mm) with a long 3,050 mm wheelbase. This generous sizing helps maximise cabin space across all three rows, offering a comfortable six-seat configuration with captain’s chairs in the second row.

While it shares its basic silhouette and glasshouse with the related Toyota Highlander EV, Lexus has given the TZ a distinct, upscale identity through unique styling elements, including a signature Lexus spindle grille adapted for EV aerodynamics, refined bumpers, and premium detailing.

The TZ is offered with two lithium-ion battery options:

  • 76.96 kWh (standard)
  • 95.82 kWh (larger pack for maximum range)

The larger 95.82 kWh battery delivers an anticipated driving range of up to 530 km (WLTP), making it highly competitive for long-distance travel. In EPA estimates (more relevant for the US market), the longer-range version is rated at around 300 miles.

It features a dual-motor DIRECT4 all-wheel-drive system producing approximately 402 hp, enabling strong performance with 0-100 km/h acceleration in about 5.4 seconds. Charging supports up to 150 kW DC fast charging, with 10-80% achievable in roughly 35 minutes.

Lexus describes the TZ as a “Driving Lounge,” emphasising a serene, quiet cabin with premium materials such as forged bamboo trim and high-quality leather. Highlights include:

  • Available Dynamic Rear Steering for better handling and reduced body sway
  • Low centre of gravity for composed dynamics
  • Advanced Lexus Safety System+ 4.0
  • Immersive audio with an optional Mark Levinson system
  • Large panoramic roof and spacious, flexible interior

The TZ also offers a towing capacity of up to 3,500 pounds, adding versatility for family adventures.

As Lexus accelerates its electrification push, the TZ serves as a flagship electric offering alongside models like the RZ and RX. It is expected to arrive in showrooms in late 2026 as a 2027 model year vehicle. With its blend of luxury, practicality, strong range, and Lexus refinement, the TZ is poised to attract premium buyers seeking a spacious, all-electric three-row SUV without compromising on comfort or presence
