Hyundai has launched the new Creta Electric Lounge Edition in India, a special variant aimed at providing a comfort-focused rear-seat experience in the popular electric SUV. Taking the Excellence Long Range variant as a base, the Lounge Edition makes its primary changes to focus on features and comforts that cater to the second-row occupants, rather than any modifications to the powertrain or battery. The ex-showroom prices start at ₹24.34 lakh and go up to ₹25.22 lakh, depending on the configuration, dual-tone paint option, and the availability of the home charger. The top-spec dual-tone Excellence Long Range with home charger option starts at a hefty ₹25.22 lakh, which is certainly on the pricier side for a mid-size electric SUV.
The highlight feature of the Lounge Edition is the large 11.6-inch rear-seat entertainment system that converts the second row into a proper digital lounge, providing access to OTT platforms, video playback, games, phone mirroring, and an app store with certified apps. The system also pairs with the Bose eight-speaker premium sound system with centre channel and subwoofer. Hyundai has also made several interior upgrades with Lounge-specific seat design, branded rear headrest cushions, silver inserts, and Moonwhite ambient lighting that adds to an enhanced sense of luxury.
The Creta Electric-specific features include a factory fitted dashcam, and a rear wireless charger to add to the convenience offered to the second-row occupant. The Lounge Edition also gets a more distinct exterior treatment, offered in a new Golden Bronze exterior colour with black accents, compared to the standard Creta Electric variants. The black exterior detailing also includes skid plates, side sill garnish, rear spoiler, roof rails, C-pillar garnish, and outside rear-view mirrors, with 17-inch black aero alloy wheels completing the exterior aesthetic.
