JSW MG Motor India has officially launched the Hector Tomahawk EV, its new electric SUV available in both seven-seater and five-seater configurations, with special introductory ex-showroom prices starting at ₹19.49 lakh for limited units only. The seven-seater Excite variant is priced at ₹19.49 lakh, the Exclusive at ₹21.99 lakh and the top-spec Essence at ₹23.49 lakh, while the five-seater is offered solely in the Essence trim at ₹22.99 lakh. These introductory rates apply to a restricted number of vehicles, after which regular pricing will take effect. Bookings are open with a token amount of ₹21,000, and deliveries of the electric version are scheduled to begin in September 2026.
The Hector Tomahawk EV marks the first India model based on MG’s ADAPT architecture. It is powered by a 69.2 kWh battery pack paired with a front-mounted permanent magnet synchronous motor that delivers 150 kW (approximately 204 hp) and 310 Nm of torque. MG claims a MIDC range of 517 km on a full charge, with 0-100 km/h acceleration in 8.2 seconds. The vehicle supports DC fast charging at up to 90 kW, enabling a 30-80 percent charge in around 35 minutes via a CCS2 connector. Using a 7.4 kW AC charger, a 10-100 percent top-up takes approximately 12.5 hours.
Dimensionally the SUV measures about 4,745 mm in length, 1,850 mm in width and 1,755 mm in height, riding on a 2,810 mm wheelbase that provides generous cabin space across both seating layouts. The five-seater offers a boot capacity of around 610 litres, while the seven-seater provides 192 litres with all rows in use and expands to 528 litres when the third row is folded. Suspension consists of McPherson struts at the front and a multi-link setup at the rear, with electric power steering.
Inside, the Hector Tomahawk EV features a large 15.6-inch touchscreen infotainment system, an 8.8-inch digital driver’s display, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, wireless phone charging and gesture controls. Higher variants include a panoramic sunroof, ventilated front seats, powered tailgate, 360-degree camera and connected car features with multiple apps. MG has also highlighted advanced connectivity options including generative AI capabilities. Safety equipment is expected to encompass multiple airbags, electronic stability control, tyre-pressure monitoring and Level-2 ADAS functions on select trims.
Buyers can also opt for MG’s Battery-as-a-Service programme, under which the vehicle price starts lower (from ₹13.99 lakh) with a separate battery rental charged per kilometre. The Hector Tomahawk EV positions itself as a spacious family-oriented electric SUV competing in the growing three-row EV segment, combining competitive pricing, strong claimed range and practical dual seating options. Interested customers can place bookings online or at authorised dealerships with the ₹21,000 token amount, with the special introductory prices available for a limited period.
