JSW MG Motor India has launched the Hector Tomahawk EV, with prices under its Battery-as-a-Service (BaaS) programme starting at Rs 13.99 lakh (ex-showroom). This introductory BaaS pricing applies to limited units and makes the new electric SUV more accessible by separating the vehicle cost from the battery.

The Hector Tomahawk EV is powered by a 69.2 kWh LFP (lithium iron phosphate) battery pack paired with a single front-mounted electric motor. It delivers a claimed ARAI/MIDC range of 517 km on a full charge. Power output is in the region of 201–210 bhp with 310 Nm of torque. The SUV supports fast charging and includes vehicle-to-load (V2L) capability. It is available in both 5-seater and 7-seater configurations, positioning it as a practical family electric SUV above the regular MG Hector in the brand’s lineup.
The model is available in five- and seven-seat configurations and is the first MG vehicle in India based on the brand’s ADAPT architecture. Bookings are open, with deliveries expected to begin in September. A PHEV version of the Hector Tomahawk is also part of the lineup (with a slightly different design in some aspects relative to the pure EV) and has been introduced alongside the electric model.
The BaaS option at Rs 13.99 lakh positions the Hector Tomahawk EV as an attractive entry point for buyers looking for a spacious three-row electric SUV with strong claimed range, while the per-km battery rental provides flexibility for those who prefer lower upfront costs.
Built on the new ADAPT platform, the Hector Tomahawk EV features a bold, upright design with rectangular LED headlamps, signature DRLs, roof rails and modern styling cues. Interior highlights include a large (approximately 15.6-inch) touchscreen infotainment system, panoramic sunroof, ventilated seats, 360-degree camera, Level 2 ADAS and multiple safety features including airbags. The ADAPT architecture is designed to support multiple powertrains. While the pure-electric version has launched first, a plug-in hybrid electric vehicle (PHEV) variant of the Hector Tomahawk is also being introduced. The PHEV uses a 20.5 kWh battery with a 1.5-litre dedicated hybrid engine and claims a combined range of around 1,100 km. Deliveries of the PHEV are expected to begin later (from November), and it may feature slight design differences. PHEV pricing starts higher, with BaaS options also available.
