JSW MG Motor India has officially launched the MG Hector Tomahawk EV, its new three-row electric SUV and the first production model on the company’s ADAPT (Advanced Drive Architecture Platform Technology) platform. The vehicle is now available for bookings across India.
The MG Hector Tomahawk EV starts at Rs 19.49 lakh (ex-showroom) for the 7-seater Excite variant. Higher variants are priced at Rs 21.99 lakh (Exclusive) and Rs 23.49 lakh (Essence). A 5-seater Essence variant is offered at Rs 22.99 lakh. These are introductory prices applicable to a limited number of units. Bookings are open following earlier pre-reservations.
The Hector Tomahawk EV features a 69.2 kWh LFP (lithium iron phosphate) battery pack paired with a single front-mounted electric motor. It delivers a claimed ARAI range of 517 km on a full charge. Power output is approximately 201–210 bhp with 310 Nm of torque. The SUV supports fast charging and includes vehicle-to-load (V2L) capability.It is available in both 5-seater and 7-seater configurations, making it a practical family electric SUV positioned above the regular MG Hector in the brand’s lineup.
Built on the new ADAPT platform, the Hector Tomahawk EV has a bold, upright design with rectangular LED headlamps, signature DRLs, roof rails and modern styling. Key interior features include a large (approximately 15.6-inch) touchscreen infotainment system, panoramic sunroof, ventilated seats, 360-degree camera, Level 2 ADAS and a comprehensive safety suite including multiple airbags.
The ADAPT architecture supports multiple powertrains. While the pure-electric version has launched first, a plug-in hybrid (PHEV) version of the Hector Tomahawk will also be offered, with deliveries expected to begin later. The PHEV uses a 20.5 kWh battery combined with a 1.5-litre dedicated hybrid engine and claims a combined range of around 1,100 km. It may feature slight design differences from the EV.
The MG Hector Tomahawk EV enters India’s growing three-row electric SUV segment and is expected to compete with models such as the Mahindra XEV 9S and Kia Carens Clavis EV.
