In a remarkable milestone for electric mobility in India, authorized Kia dealer Incheon Kia handed over 150 units of the newly launched Syros EV in a single day at a grand event held on August 17, 2026, at the Grand Hyatt in Kochi. The mass delivery, timed with Chingam 1 and the onset of the Onam festival, earned recognition from the India Book of Records for the maximum number of single-model electric cars sold by a dealer in one day. The ceremony was attended by Kia India Managing Director and CEO Gwanggu Lee, along with senior company and dealership officials, and the vehicles were flagged off in a convoy after being arranged in a traditional pookalam formation.

The Syros EV, introduced in India on July 23, 2026, has generated strong early demand, particularly in Kerala. Bookings for the model with Incheon Kia have already surpassed 650 units, up from over 300 at the time of the state launch earlier in August. On the same day, the dealership delivered a total of 500 Kia vehicles across Kerala, with the 150 Syros EVs forming the standout highlight and marking the first major batch of customer handovers for the electric SUV.

Priced starting at ₹13.49 lakh (ex-showroom) or as low as ₹7.99 lakh under the Battery-as-a-Service option, the Syros EV offers two battery packs delivering claimed ranges of up to 443 km and 526 km respectively. Features such as a lifetime high-voltage battery warranty, assured buyback programme, and rapid DC charging capability have contributed to its appeal among buyers seeking an affordable yet capable electric SUV.

This achievement underscores Kerala’s growing embrace of electric vehicles and highlights the role of progressive dealerships in building supporting infrastructure, including ultra-fast chargers and expanded solar capacity. As Kia continues to expand its EV portfolio, the record-setting delivery signals strong potential for the Syros EV to become a significant player in India’s mass-market electric segment.
