MG Motor India has announced a price revision for its models effective July 2026. The biggest update concerns the popular MG Comet EV, whose prices have been adjusted by up to Rs 17,000.

Excite8.50 (approx.)Revised
Exclusive10.07Revised

The MG Comet EV is now officially priced between Rs 7.80 lakh and Rs 10.07 lakh (ex-showroom, all-India). The micro electric car continues to be offered in three variants: Executive, Excite, and Exclusive.

Battery-as-a-Service (BaaS) Option Still Available

Customers can also opt for the flexible Battery-as-a-Service (BaaS) program, which significantly lowers the upfront cost by leasing the battery separately. This makes the Comet EV one of the most affordable entry points into electric mobility in the country.

Context of the Revision

This price adjustment comes shortly after MG updated prices of other models in its lineup, including the Cyberster, M9, and Windsor EV. The company appears to be fine-tuning pricing across its EV portfolio in response to market conditions, competition, and input costs.

Despite the revision, the MG Comet EV remains one of the most compact and stylish options in the Indian EV market. Its cute design, easy city drivability, and low running costs continue to attract first-time EV buyers, especially in metro cities.

Highlights of MG Comet EV

  • Twin electric motors setup
  • 230 km claimed range (MIDC)
  • Fast charging support
  • 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment
  • Premium features like digital key, voice commands, and connected car tech
  • Highly maneuverable size ideal for tight urban parking

The Comet EV competes in the micro-EV segment against models like the Tata Punch EV and Citroën eC3.

MG’s EV Offensive in India

With this update, MG Motor India continues to strengthen its position in the fast-growing electric vehicle market. The company is simultaneously pushing larger EVs like the Windsor EV and the luxury M9 MPV while keeping smaller, affordable options like the Comet relevant through periodic pricing adjustments.
