Tata Motors has officially launched the much-awaited Tata Sierra EV in India on June 30, 2026. The electric version of the popular mid-size SUV carries forward the iconic Sierra nameplate into the EV era with an introductory starting price of Rs 18.79 lakh (ex-showroom). Pricing for the full range extends up to approximately Rs 24.79 lakh (ex-showroom), depending on variant and configuration.

The Sierra EV is built on Tata’s advanced Acti.ev+ platform, a dedicated electric vehicle architecture that supports efficient packaging, strong performance, and advanced features. It slots between the Curvv EV and Harrier EV in Tata’s growing electric lineup.

Battery, Range, and Powertrain Options

The Sierra EV offers two battery pack choices:

  • 63 kWh battery — Claimed MIDC range of up to 565 km.
  • 75 kWh battery — Claimed MIDC range of up to 665 km.

Tata highlights over 500 km of real-world range (C75 testing) on the larger battery pack, making it suitable for both daily commutes and longer highway trips.

Drivetrain choices include:

  • Rear-Wheel Drive (RWD) as standard across most variants.
  • Dual-motor Quad-Wheel Drive (QWD/AWD) available on top trims (primarily with the 75 kWh pack), delivering strong performance with combined outputs reaching significant power and torque figures. The AWD variant is expected to offer quick acceleration (0-100 km/h in around 5.8 seconds in related models) and enhanced off-road capability with multiple terrain modes.

Both packs use advanced LFP chemistry with liquid cooling for better safety, longevity, and thermal management. DC fast charging support allows rapid top-ups, with the platform capable of adding substantial range in 10-15 minutes.
