Greaves Electric Mobility (GEM), the electric vehicle arm of Greaves Cotton and parent company of the Ampere brand, has achieved a significant landmark by crossing 3 lakh units in cumulative retail sales of its electric scooters in India.

According to Vahan portal data (covering deliveries from May 2019 to June 17, 2026), Ampere has now sold 3,00,293 electric scooters. This milestone comes as the company gears up for an IPO and continues to strengthen its position in the competitive electric two-wheeler market.

The last 50,000 units were sold in less than eight months, reflecting strong momentum. GEM had crossed the 2.5 lakh mark by October 2025. In 2026 so far (till mid-June), the company has already delivered 38,430 units, registering a healthy 58% year-on-year growth and capturing around 4% market share in the electric scooter segment

Ampere’s portfolio includes three main lines — Nexus (premium), Magnus (mid-range), and Reo (entry-level). Strong performers include the Magnus Neo, Magnus Grand, and G-Max. In late April 2026, the company launched the updated Magnus Neo (priced at ₹86,000), which boosted urban commuter demand. On June 17, 2026, Ampere introduced the new Reo VYB — an affordable entry-level scooter priced at ₹69,499 with an LFP battery, top speed of 25 km/h, and real-world range of up to 80 km. This model targets first-time EV buyers and the high-volume sub-₹1 lakh segment.

Ampere currently ranks as the sixth largest electric two-wheeler manufacturer in India, behind TVS, Bajaj, Ather, Hero Vida, and Ola Electric. The company has a widespread presence with over 500 dealerships across 27 states and more than 400 Ampere Care after-sales touchpoints.

Commenting on the milestone and new launches, Vikas Singh, Managing Director, Greaves Electric Mobility, highlighted the focus on practical, durable, and affordable solutions for Tier-2 and Tier-3 cities as well as last-mile delivery needs

With consistent monthly sales now exceeding 7,000 units and new models gaining traction, GEM is on track for its highest-ever annual sales in 2026. The company’s IPO plans and continued product expansion position it well to compete more aggressively in both mass-market and premium electric scooter segments.

This 3 lakh milestone underscores Ampere’s growing acceptance among Indian consumers seeking reliable and cost-effective electric mobility solutions.
