Ampere, the electric two-wheeler brand from Greaves Electric Mobility, has introduced the Reo VYB, an affordable entry-level electric scooter priced at an introductory ex-showroom price of ₹69,499. The launch targets first-time EV buyers, urban commuters, and users in Tier-II and Tier-III cities seeking a practical, hassle-free, and eco-friendly mobility solution.
Battery and Range: Powered by a safe and durable Lithium Ferro Phosphate (LFP) battery with a capacity of around 1.44 kWh. It delivers a claimed true range of up to 80 km on a single charge. The battery is engineered for longevity, with a lifespan of up to 1,00,000 km.
Performance: Equipped with a hub-mounted BLDC motor, the scooter has a top speed of 25 kmph. This classifies it as a low-speed vehicle.
Regulatory Benefits: As a low-speed e-scooter (sub-25 kmph and typically under 250W motor power), it does not require a driving licence or vehicle registration under current Indian regulations, making it highly accessible for daily use.

The Reo VYB builds on Ampere’s existing Reo lineup (which starts around ₹59,900–₹60,650 in some variants) and strengthens the company’s presence in the no-licence, no-registration segment. It offers a compelling alternative to conventional two-wheelers by promising lower running costs, zero emissions, and minimal maintenance.
