Mahindra Automotive has officially commenced customer deliveries of the updated BE 6 Sporteq electric SUV in India, marking the next chapter for its popular born-electric model. The company recently shared the first images of vehicles being handed over to customers, confirming that the refreshed electric SUV has now started reaching owners across the country following its launch earlier this month.
The BE 6 Sporteq represents a significant evolution of the original BE 6, with Mahindra introducing meaningful changes across battery options, cabin design, technology and colour choices. The model is now offered with three battery packs — 59 kWh, a newly added 70 kWh unit, and the larger 79 kWh pack — delivering claimed ranges of up to 548 km, 651 km and 683 km respectively under the MIDC cycle. Power outputs stand at 231 hp for the base pack, 245 hp for the mid-size battery and 286 hp for the top variant, all paired with 380 Nm of torque and a rear-wheel-drive layout. Fast charging capability allows a 20 to 80 per cent top-up in around 20 minutes depending on the battery and charger.
Inside the cabin, the updates are particularly noticeable. Higher variants now feature a triple 12.3-inch screen setup across a redesigned horizontal dashboard that replaces the previous halo-style layout. This change creates additional storage space and improves access to the wireless charging pad and USB ports. New interior themes, including a full Racing Tan option on the Launch Edition, enhance the premium feel, while software-defined vehicle technology brings advanced features such as Google Gemini voice assistant integration, personalised driver profiles, customisable tailgate messaging and a suite of TEQ driving functions.
Exterior revisions include fresh colour options such as Ruby Velvet and Graphite Storm, along with distinctive Sporteq badging. The lineup spans multiple variants including special Launch and Formula E Freedom Editions, with prices starting at ₹19.45 lakh ex-showroom for the battery-inclusive model or as low as ₹11.45 lakh under the Battery-as-a-Service programme.
By expanding battery choices, elevating the cabin experience and introducing more connected technology, Mahindra has sharpened the appeal of its electric SUV. With deliveries now under way and the first customer vehicles already on the road, the BE 6 Sporteq is positioned to strengthen Mahindra’s presence in India’s growing premium electric vehicle segment.
