JSW MG Motor India has launched the new MG Hector Tomahawk in India in both EV and PHEV versions, marking the company’s latest step in expanding its electrified SUV portfolio. JSW MG Motor India has opened bookings for its new MG Hector Tomahawk, marking the debut of the SUV on the company’s new ADAPT platform, described as India’s first Multi-New Energy Vehicle platform. The Hector Tomahawk will be offered with both electric vehicle (EV) and plug-in hybrid electric vehicle (PHEV) powertrain options, giving customers two electrified choices in the SUV segment.
Bookings for both the MG Hector Tomahawk EV and Hector Tomahawk PHEV are now open across MG dealerships in India as well as through the company’s official website. The company has also started dispatching the Hector Tomahawk EV to dealerships across the country ahead of its scheduled deliveries.
According to JSW MG Motor India, deliveries of the Hector Tomahawk EV are scheduled to begin in September 2026. The PHEV version will follow later, with test drives and deliveries expected to commence from November 2026. This staggered rollout will allow MG to introduce the fully electric version first before bringing the plug-in hybrid model to customers.
The introduction of the Hector Tomahawk represents an important step in MG’s electrification strategy for the Indian market. By offering the same SUV with EV and PHEV powertrain choices, the company aims to address different customer requirements while expanding its presence in the growing new-energy vehicle segment.
The ADAPT platform is central to the Hector Tomahawk’s positioning, as it has been developed to support multiple electrified powertrain technologies. This gives MG greater flexibility to offer electric and plug-in hybrid vehicles while adapting to the changing requirements of the Indian automotive market.
With bookings now open, the Hector Tomahawk EV is moving closer to its September 2026 deliveries, while the PHEV version is scheduled to reach customers from November. The ongoing dealership dispatches of the EV indicate that MG is preparing its retail network ahead of the SUV’s arrival in showrooms.
