Kia has released a fresh teaser for the upcoming Sorento, underlining the SUV’s capability with the message that confident All-Wheel Drive and dedicated Terrain Modes for Sand, Snow and Mud will allow it to take on changing terrains with unparalleled confidence and control. The campaign positions the model as a global icon reimagined for India and invites customers to pre-book now, building anticipation just days before the official launch.
The latest update reinforces what has already been confirmed about the India-spec Sorento: the strong-hybrid version will come with all-wheel drive as standard, making it Kia’s first hybrid SUV in the country to offer this level of traction capability. The addition of Terrain Modes tailored for sand, snow and mud further enhances its versatility, giving drivers the tools to adapt to varied road and off-road conditions with greater assurance. This combination of hybrid efficiency and AWD confidence is expected to set the Sorento apart in the premium three-row SUV segment.
Designed as a global flagship reimagined specifically for Indian buyers, the Sorento will be assembled locally and is scheduled for launch on 4 September 2026. It will be offered with both strong-hybrid and diesel powertrains, the hybrid pairing a 1.6-litre turbo-petrol engine with an electric motor for combined outputs in the region of 238 hp and 380 Nm. The AWD system and Terrain Modes are expected to form part of the hybrid’s appeal, while the overall package includes premium features such as dual large displays, advanced driver assistance systems, a spacious three-row cabin available in six- or seven-seat layouts, and Kia’s Live Generative AI assistant.
Pre-bookings are already open through Kia dealerships and the official website, allowing interested customers to secure their place ahead of the price announcement and deliveries. With the new teaser focusing squarely on the Sorento’s ability to handle diverse terrains with confidence, Kia is clearly emphasising the model’s capability as much as its comfort, technology and hybrid efficiency. As the launch approaches, the combination of global pedigree and India-specific enhancements positions the Sorento as a strong contender against established rivals in the premium SUV space.
