Ather Energy has barely begun deliveries of its new Konarc family scooter, yet the company has already outlined the next step in the range. The more feature-loaded Konarc Z series is scheduled to arrive in the second quarter of 2027, offering claimed IDC ranges of 125 km and 161 km. These variants will sit above the currently available Konarc S models and are expected to bring a noticeably higher level of equipment and technology.
The Konarc, launched in late August 2026 as Ather’s first production scooter on the new EL platform, is positioned as a practical, more accessible electric scooter for everyday family use. The S series focuses on affordability and range options, with the S 125 and S 161 already priced and heading to customers from September 2026, while additional S variants (including a 100 km model and a planned 200 km version) follow later. The Z series, by contrast, prioritises added features and a more premium experience while retaining the same core platform and practical design language.
According to details shared at launch, the Konarc Z will initially be offered in two battery configurations matching the 125 km and 161 km claimed IDC ranges. Pricing for both Z variants has not yet been announced. Ather has indicated that the Z models will differentiate themselves through richer equipment rather than fundamentally different powertrains or chassis.
Key expected upgrades on the Z series include Ather’s Advanced Electronic Braking System (AeBS), which manages braking force electronically to improve control, shorten stopping distances, and help prevent rear-wheel lock-up under hard braking. The Z line is also set to feature a higher claimed top speed of around 80 km/h (compared with 70 km/h on the S models), along with enhanced connectivity.
