VinFast Limo Green Electric MPV Makes Road Test Appearance in India Pre-February Launch

The Vietnamese electric carmaker VinFast is accelerating its expansion in the Indian market with the upcoming launch of its third product: the Limo Green electric MPV. This seven-seater electric vehicle is positioned as a family-oriented, practical offering in the growing EV segment, and it is set to make its official debut in India next month, in February 2026.Reports indicate that the Limo Green will serve as VinFast’s entry into the competitive electric multi-purpose vehicle (MPV) space, where it is expected to take on rivals such as the BYD eMax 7 and the upcoming Kia Carens Clavis EV. The model draws from VinFast’s global lineup, potentially based on or closely related to the VF MPV7 family MPV recently introduced elsewhere, but tailored for Indian preferences with a focus on spacious 3-row seating for up to seven passengers.

Just ahead of the official unveiling, a fully camouflaged test mule of this upcoming EV was spotted undergoing real-world testing on public roads in India. Spy shots reveal a tall, upright stance typical of MPVs, with a large glasshouse for better cabin visibility, distinctive vertical tail lamps, and other design cues that align with patent images previously filed by the company. Despite the heavy camouflage wrapping, the test vehicle hints at a modern, boxy silhouette designed for versatility—whether for family use or potentially fleet operations.

VinFast has been steadily building its presence in India, having already introduced models like the VF 6 and VF 7 electric SUVs (which recently achieved 5-star Bharat NCAP safety ratings). The Limo Green marks the brand’s third launch in the country and is expected to be locally produced to help optimize pricing and meet market demands. Expected price estimates from various sources place it in the range of ₹19.90 lakh to ₹23.90 lakh (ex-showroom), making it competitively positioned in the mid-size electric MPV segment.

The vehicle is likely to feature a single-motor setup paired with a battery pack around 60 kWh, delivering a practical range suitable for urban and highway driving. Key highlights from spy reports and previews include a 10.1-inch touchscreen infotainment system supporting Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, along with other modern conveniences aimed at comfort and connectivity.

Beyond retail sales, the Limo Green is also tied to VinFast’s broader ambitions in India, including the potential rollout of its Green and Smart Mobility (GSM) taxi/ride-hailing service, which would deploy VinFast EVs in fleet operations to promote sustainable transportation.

As the February 2026 launch approaches, more details on specifications, battery options, range, charging capabilities, and exact variants are expected to emerge. The spotted test mule signals that development is in its final stages, with VinFast gearing up to challenge established players in India’s fast-evolving electric vehicle landscape. This move underscores the Vietnamese automaker’s commitment to growing its footprint in one of the world’s most promising EV markets.
