VinFast posted 23,624 electric vehicle deliveries in Vietnam in September 2026, representing a 17 percent rise compared to the previous month. It has also achieved a 177,697 unit preliminary year-to-date (YTD) sales figure, and an average of around 20,000 cars per month for the first three quarters of this year, suggesting robust demand for its diverse range of electric cars. Deliveries of electric vehicles in Vietnam hit a new record high for the ninth consecutive month in September 2026.

The strong sales figures reflect the popularity of its range of compact, flexible electric vehicles, as well as a growing appetite for more powerful models that are perfect for families and for transporting goods. Its total sales for the nine months were over its 2025 full-year total, and it is continuing to gain traction in the Vietnamese market, which is home to one of Southeast Asia’s fastest-growing automotive sectors. VinFast is working to introduce a wide range of electric vehicles in Vietnam to meet the diverse needs of local customers. By doing so, it is encouraging the shift towards zero-emission transport.

The latest round of deliveries has also been good for the company’s prospects. Its YTD sales are in line with its capacity to deliver around 20,000 cars per month. VinFast has been able to satisfy the rising demand in Vietnam for electric vehicles, and this has put additional pressure on the foreign automakers that have been selling hybrid and petrol cars in Vietnam up until now. More details about the company’s YTD results and outlook for the next quarter are set to be discussed by the company during the earnings call on October 19 at 8:00 a.m. Eastern Time.

As always, it will be interesting to see what further moves it makes in terms of production and export activity in order to meet its ambitious goals. The recent results indicate that the company should continue to be a key player in Vietnam’s evolving electric vehicle market. It is well-placed to meet the rising demand for zero-emission transport and to capitalize on this trend in the years ahead.
