Vietnamese electric vehicle manufacturer VinFast is leaving no stone unturned in its India ambitions, with the country now firmly positioned as a cornerstone of the company’s global expansion strategy. In a major boost to its Indian portfolio, VinFast will introduce the Limo Green – a premium seven-seater electric MPV – in February 2026. This will be the company’s third model for the Indian market, following the VF6 and VF7 compact electric crossovers that were launched in September this year.“The next car that we are going to launch will be around February. It will be the 7-seater Limo Green,” confirmed Pham Sanh Chau, Chief Executive Officer – Asia, VinFast, in an exclusive interaction.
Positioned in the same premium segment as the VF6 and VF7, the Limo Green is expected to take on upcoming rivals such as the Kia Carens Clavis EV and the BYD eMax 7 in India’s fast-growing family-oriented electric vehicle space.
Aggressive Roll-Out Strategy
VinFast’s India journey, which officially kicked off with the VF6 and VF7 in September 2025, has been remarkably swift. In just three months, the company has already established a 26-dealer network across key cities and is receiving encouraging early response from customers. Chau has repeatedly described India as a “make-or-break” market for VinFast’s long-term global goals, placing it on par with markets like the United States and Europe in strategic importance.
True to its promise of rapid product cadence, VinFast plans to introduce a new model every six months in India. The Limo Green will spearhead an even more aggressive expansion roadmap lined up for 2026, which is likely to include additional body styles and price points to capture a larger slice of the burgeoning Indian EV pie.
Why India Matters So Much to VinFast
With over 1.4 billion people, a rapidly growing middle class, favourable government policies under the FAME scheme and PM E-Drive, and ambitious targets to electrify 30 per cent of vehicles by 2030, India represents one of the world’s most promising electric vehicle markets. For VinFast, which is already present in North America, Europe and several Southeast Asian countries, a strong foothold in India is critical to achieving economies of scale and establishing itself among the top global EV brands by the end of the decade.
The quick ramp-up of dealerships, frequent model launches and focus on premium yet practical family movers like the Limo Green underscore VinFast’s serious intent to not just participate but lead in India’s electric mobility revolution.
As the countdown to February 2026 begins, all eyes will be on how the Limo Green shapes up against established players and whether VinFast can translate its bold vision into on-ground success in one of the world’s most competitive automotive markets.
