VinFast, the Vietnamese electric vehicle manufacturer, is intensifying its presence in the Indian market with the upcoming launch of the Limo Green, a dedicated electric 7-seater MPV. This model marks a significant step in VinFast’s expansion strategy, following the recent introductions of the VF6 and VF7 SUVs.The Limo Green is set to arrive in India around February 2026, according to statements from VinFast Asia CEO Pham Sanh Chau. It will be the company’s third offering in the country and is planned for local production, which signals a strong commitment to the Indian market by reducing costs through localization and potentially qualifying for government incentives.
Key Specifications and Performance
The Limo Green is built around a 60.13 kWh battery pack, delivering a claimed range of 450 km under the NEDC testing cycle. In real-world Indian conditions—with factors like air conditioning, highway driving, and traffic—it could realistically achieve 350-400 km, making it suitable for family outings, inter-city trips, or even fleet operations.
Power comes from a front-mounted electric motor producing 198-201 BHP (approximately 150 kW) and 280 Nm of torque. This front-wheel-drive setup provides smooth, instant acceleration suitable for urban environments, with an estimated 0-100 km/h time in the 9-10 second range and a top speed around 140 km/h.
Dimensions emphasize family practicality: the MPV measures approximately 4,740 mm in length, 1,872 mm in width, and 1,728 mm in height, paired with a generous 2,840 mm wheelbase. This creates ample interior space in a 2+3+2 seating configuration, offering good legroom and ease of access to the third row. Ground clearance stands at about 170 mm, helping it handle Indian road conditions.
Charging support includes 11 kW AC and up to 80 kW DC fast charging, allowing a 10-70% charge in roughly 30 minutes.
Design and Features
The Limo Green adopts a clean, modern aesthetic with LED lighting and a spacious cabin. The interior focuses on functionality with a 10.1-inch touchscreen infotainment system, a digital instrument cluster, single-zone AC, USB ports, and a basic audio setup (typically four speakers). Safety features include multiple airbags (at least 4-6 depending on the variant), ABS, electronic parking brake, and possibly enhanced elements for the Indian market.
While the Vietnam-spec model (primarily aimed at taxi/fleet use) keeps things minimalistic, the India version may incorporate additional comforts or ADAS features to appeal to private buyers.
Market Positioning and CompetitionPriced aggressively in estimates ranging from Rs 19-25 lakh (ex-showroom, varying by source and variant), the Limo Green positions itself as a competitive electric family mover. It directly challenges models like the BYD eMAX 7 (with its larger battery but higher pricing) and the upcoming Kia Carens Clavis EV. Its size and range could also appeal to buyers eyeing alternatives to traditional diesel MPVs like the Toyota Innova Crysta, especially with VinFast’s potential fleet-focused approach (including services like Green Smart Mobility) and benefits such as an eight-year battery warranty and access to charging networks. With local assembly and a focus on value, the Limo Green represents VinFast’s push to capture a share of India’s rapidly growing electric MPV segment, blending practicality, efficiency, and affordability for families and commercial users alike. Expect more details, including exact pricing and India-specific features, as the February 2026 launch approaches.
