Ultraviolette has unveiled that its light-framed Shockwave electric motorcycle will be launched in first quarter of 2027, after being upgraded to the company’s newly developed high-efficiency 100V electrical architecture. Dubbed as a ‘funduro’ model which blends the playful spirit of classic enduro machines with modern electric power, the Shockwave is set to prioritise pure riding enjoyment in a lightweight and nimble package. Deliveries are set to begin in early 2027 after the completion of production preparations currently underway at the company’s existing manufacturing facility.
The move to the 100V platform marks a major technical upgrade for the Shockwave. Ultraviolette anticipates that the higher voltage architecture will provide stronger power delivery, improved thermal performance and faster charging speeds than previous systems. The upgrade aligns the motorcycle with the same high-grade electrical architecture powering the upcoming Tesseract electric scooter, demonstrating the brand’s commitment to cutting-edge powertrain tech. Final specifications will be revealed closer to launch, though earlier details had suggested a lively electric motor, substantial peak torque at the rear wheel and a claimed range suitable for both urban and light adventure use.
Originally conceived as a minimalist, light-framed electric motorcycle with an off-road-inspired stance, raised front fender and purposeful design, the Shockwave is set to recapture the spirit of two-stroke machines while benefiting from the refinement of an electric powertrain. Ultraviolette has confirmed that the model will be available in both single- and dual-seat variants, appealing to different types of riders. Work on a dedicated production line has already kicked off, showing that the company is getting closer to the confirmed Q1 2027 launch window.
According to Narayan Subramaniam, Co-founder and CEO of Ultraviolette, the Shockwave was always envisioned as a motorcycle focused on the pure enjoyment of riding. Bringing the 100V architecture to the model is said to be an important step in the realisation of that vision, with the company expressing optimism that the finished motorcycle will provide an exceptionally engaging experience once it reaches customers. The parallel development of the Shockwave and Tesseract over the past year have allowed the brand to fine-tune the shared technology and prepare manufacturing capacity at its existing facility.
With the lock-in for a launch in first quarter of 2027, the Shockwave is set to diversify Ultraviolette’s F77 electric sports motorcycle offerings to include a lightweight funduro model.
