Ultraviolette Launches ‘Battery Flex’ Subscription for X-47, Slashes Entry Price to ₹1.49 Lakh

Ultraviolette, a leading Indian electric vehicle manufacturer known for its high-performance motorcycles like the F77 series, has introduced an innovative Battery Flex subscription program for its recently launched X-47 Crossover electric motorcycle. This initiative, developed in partnership with Ecofy—a specialist in sustainable financing and Battery-as-a-Service (BaaS) solutions—aims to make premium electric mobility more accessible by significantly reducing the upfront ownership cost.

Making the X-47 More Affordable

The Ultraviolette X-47 is a versatile crossover electric motorcycle that blends adventure-ready design with cutting-edge technology, including the world’s first integrated radar system (UV HyperSense) for advanced rider assistance, an onboard charger, multiple ride modes, and strong performance figures. It features two battery options: a 7.1 kWh pack offering around 211 km IDC range and a larger 10.3 kWh pack delivering up to 323 km IDC range. The bike boasts 40 hp (30 kW) peak power, 100 Nm motor torque (translating to 610 Nm at the wheel), 0-60 km/h acceleration in about 2.7 seconds, and a top speed of 145 km/h.

Without the subscription, the X-47 starts at an introductory price of around ₹2.49 lakh (ex-showroom) for base variants, with full pricing going up to ₹2.74 lakh or higher depending on the configuration (Recon, Recon+, Desert Wing, etc.).

Through the Battery Flex program, customers can now own the X-47 by paying only about 60% of the vehicle’s cost upfront—starting as low as ₹1,49,000. The battery, which represents a major portion of the EV’s value, is subscribed to separately on a monthly basis, beginning at just ₹2,499 per month.

This Battery-as-a-Service model separates the vehicle chassis and hardware from the battery pack, allowing buyers to enjoy lower entry costs while Ultraviolette and Ecofy handle battery maintenance, warranty (up to 8 years or 800,000 km on the battery), and potential future upgrades. It addresses common barriers to EV adoption in India, such as high initial purchase prices and concerns over battery longevity and replacement costs.

Benefits of the Battery Flex Program

  • Lower Upfront Investment — Reduces the effective on-road price dramatically, making the premium X-47 competitive with mid-segment ICE motorcycles.
  • Predictable Running Costs — Fixed monthly subscription covers battery usage, with potential inclusions for maintenance and roadside support.
  • Flexibility — Customers avoid depreciation risks on the battery and gain peace of mind with professional management of the high-voltage component.
  • Sustainability Focus — Aligns with Ecofy’s mission to promote green mobility through innovative financing, potentially including end-of-life battery recycling or repurposing.

This move follows the successful launch of the X-47 in late 2025, which quickly garnered thousands of bookings thanks to its futuristic features, strong real-world performance, and competitive positioning against petrol-powered adventure and street bikes.

Ultraviolette continues to push boundaries in India’s growing EV two-wheeler segment, and the Battery Flex program with Ecofy could set a new benchmark for how electric motorcycles are financed and owned. Interested riders can check Ultraviolette’s official website or authorized dealerships for the latest availability, variant-specific details, and subscription terms. This development makes high-performance electric riding more attainable than ever before.
