Tesla has officially launched its first pop-up experience in Punjab, bringing the Model Y Premium to shoppers at Pavilion Mall in Ludhiana. The showcase began on March 6 and will run until March 12, 2026, giving residents an opportunity to see the electric SUV up close.
The event marks Tesla’s debut in Punjab, signalling the brand’s continued efforts to expand its presence and awareness in India. Visitors at the pop-up can explore the vehicle through guided walkarounds, interact with Tesla representatives, and book test drives through the Tesla India website.
Through the pop-up experience, Tesla aims to introduce potential buyers to its electric vehicle technology and design philosophy. Visitors can examine the Model Y Premium’s minimalist interior, advanced infotainment system, and spacious cabin layout, while also learning about charging infrastructure and ownership benefits.
These pop-up events allow Tesla to connect directly with prospective customers in cities where the brand does not yet have a permanent retail presence.
According to Tesla, the Model Y has been the world’s best-selling vehicle for three consecutive years — 2023, 2024, and 2025. The electric SUV has gained strong global demand due to its combination of performance, practicality, and advanced technology.
The vehicle has also achieved top safety ratings across multiple global testing agencies, including:
- National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) – United States
- Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) – United States
- Euro NCAP – Europe
- Australasian New Car Assessment Program (ANCAP) – Australia & New Zealand
- China Insurance Automotive Safety Index (C-IASA) – China
These accolades have helped establish the Model Y as one of the safest electric SUVs available globally.
Another key highlight of the Model Y is its fast-charging capability through Tesla’s Supercharger network. Using a Supercharger, the electric SUV can add up to 267 km of driving range in just 15 minutes, making long-distance travel more convenient for EV owners.
While Tesla has yet to begin full-scale retail operations across India, pop-up experiences like this serve as an important step in building brand awareness. By showcasing the Model Y in high-footfall locations such as malls, the company can introduce its EV technology to new audiences and gauge consumer interest.
For residents in Ludhiana and nearby regions, the event offers a rare opportunity to interact with one of the world’s most popular electric vehicles before Tesla expands its physical footprint further in the country.
