Tata Motors has launched its first 1-tonne electric pickup truck, the Intra EV Pickup, at an introductory ex-showroom price of ₹11.95 lakh. This marks a significant milestone as the first electric pickup in India’s light commercial vehicle (LCV) segment priced below ₹12 lakh.
The Tata Intra EV Pickup is positioned as a direct electric alternative to traditional small diesel and CNG pickups. It targets businesses involved in:
- Last-mile goods delivery
- Farm produce transport
- Inter-city small cargo runs
- Applications in e-commerce, FMCG, dairy, cold-chain logistics, LPG distribution, and waste management
Built on the proven Intra platform but engineered on a dedicated electric architecture, the vehicle promises lower operating costs, zero tailpipe emissions, reduced noise and vibration, and higher uptime for fleet operators and small business owners.
The Intra EV Pickup comes equipped with a 28.2 kWh IP67-rated LFP battery pack, delivering a certified range of 211 km on a single charge (real-world range is expected to be around 125-140 km depending on load and conditions).
It is powered by a 72 kW (97 hp) permanent magnet synchronous motor (PMSM) that produces 230 Nm of instant torque. This provides strong low-end pull, excellent gradability (up to 23%), and a top speed of 80 km/h — ideal for urban and semi-urban routes.Payload and Load Body:
