Rolls-Royce is all set to introduce the Spectre Series II in India in 2026, which will see the British luxury carmaker unveil an updated version of its all-electric luxury coupe. The upcoming model will arrive more than two years after the debut of the electric flagship and will feature improvements to its battery capacity, driving range, performance and personalisation options. The development was confirmed by Julian Jenkins, Global Director – Sales and Brand at Rolls-Royce Motor Cars, in an interview with Autocar India.
Commenting on the company’s plans for the Indian market, Jenkins stated that the Spectre Series II represents an evolution of the existing model and the first car is expected to arrive in India this year. The announcement underlines Rolls-Royce’s commitment in expanding its electric vehicle portfolio while maintaining the luxury, exclusivity and craftsmanship of the British marque.
The Rolls-Royce Spectre has established itself as a crucial model in the brand’s electrification strategy. Compared to conventional electric cars which focus on delivering efficiency and technology, the Spectre combines an electric powertrain to the traditional Rolls-Royce emphasis on effortless performance, exceptional comfort and a personalised ownership experience. The Series II is expected to build on these qualities with a range of technical and cosmetic upgrades.
One of the key updates to the Spectre Series II is its larger 112kWh battery pack. The updated electric coupe will be able to achieve a driving range of up to 629km (WLTP) on a single charge, making it suitable for longer journeys as well as the usual luxury driving. The increase in battery capacity and driving range will be an important addition for customers seeking an electric luxury car but not willing to compromise on long-distance usability. The driving range will depend on a number of factors including driving style, road conditions, weather and the use of the climate control.
Performance remains one of the highlights of the electric coupe. The Spectre Series II will deliver up to 680hp and 1,100Nm of torque, providing the powerful and immediate acceleration of an electric powertrain. The substantial amount of torque is expected to deliver effortless overtaking and smooth power delivery, while the luxury-focused engineering will focus on the refinement and comfort of the car alongside performance.
The updated model will also offer more personalisation options for the exterior and interior. Buyers will have greater opportunities to customise the vehicle to their individual preferences with the various design and finish choices available. Personalisation has always been a key aspect of the Rolls-Royce ownership experience, as it allows customers to tailor the car to their personal tastes. The additional options will further enhance the appeal of the Spectre as buyers seek a distinctive, bespoke electric luxury coupe.
The arrival of the Spectre Series II will further bolster the ultra-luxury EV segment in India’s slowly expanding luxury EV market. While the segment is relatively small compared to the mainstream passenger vehicle market, the growing interest in premium electric cars will encourage international manufacturers to introduce more exclusive offerings. Rolls-Royce’s introduction of the updated Spectre will cater to customers who want the benefits of electric mobility, while enjoying premium craftsmanship and high levels of exclusivity.
With its 112kWh battery, claimed range of up to 629km, power outputs of 680hp and extensive personalisation choices, the Rolls-Royce Spectre Series II is expected to reinforce the brand’s foothold in the ultra-luxury electric car segment of India. The first example is expected to arrive in India before the end of 2026, although more details regarding its Indian launch timeline, pricing and specifications are expected to follow.
