Oben Electric announced on Tuesday that its customers have collectively covered over 3.2 crore kilometres (32 million km) across India, based on aggregated telematics data from its electric motorcycle fleet since early 2024.
This impressive milestone highlights the growing reliability and everyday usability of Oben’s portfolio, including the flagship Rorr, Rorr EZ, and Rorr EZ Sigma models. The data underscores that owners are increasingly relying on these electric motorcycles for daily commuting rather than occasional rides, even in diverse urban environments and challenging road conditions.
The cumulative distance reflects consistent real-world usage, with significant contributions from states like Karnataka, Uttar Pradesh, and Delhi. These regions account for a large portion of the total kilometres logged, driven by high population density, heavy traffic, and rising fuel costs that make electric two-wheelers an attractive alternative.
Oben Electric currently operates in more than 85 cities nationwide, with a rapidly expanding dealership and service network. Recent expansions have pushed the brand deeper into Tier-II and Tier-III markets, including strong footholds in Madhya Pradesh (with multiple outlets), Punjab, Gujarat, Telangana, and others. The company aims to scale further, targeting over 150 touchpoints by March 2026 to improve accessibility and after-sales support.
Oben’s electric motorcycles have gained traction for their practical features tailored to Indian commuters:
- Rorr EZ and Rorr EZ Sigma variants offer IDC ranges of up to 175 km, top speeds around 95 km/h, and fast-charging capabilities (0-80% in as little as 1.5–2 hours depending on battery size).
- LFP (Lithium Iron Phosphate) battery technology ensures durability, safety, and longevity, with warranties covering 3 years/40,000 km on battery and motor (extendable options available).
- Features like IP67-rated batteries, high ground clearance (200 mm), water wading capability (230 mm), and app connectivity make them suitable for varied Indian conditions.
The achievement also translates to tangible environmental and cost benefits. Reports indicate that the 3.2 crore km covered has helped save approximately ₹8 crore in fuel costs for owners and reduced around 385 metric tonnes of CO₂ emissions compared to equivalent petrol-powered rides.
This milestone arrives amid robust growth for Oben Electric. The company has seen explosive year-on-year expansion (e.g., 376% in CY2025 per some reports), backed by recent funding rounds (including Pre-Series B and Series A infusions totaling significant capital) and aggressive retail push. With access to over 68,000 charging stations via partnerships and features like portable charging (Oben Port), Oben is positioning itself as a practical, performance-oriented player in the premium electric motorcycle segment.
As India’s electric two-wheeler market continues to mature—with sustained demand even alongside rising ICE sales—milestones like this demonstrate that brands focusing on real-world reliability, range confidence, and ecosystem support are winning commuter loyalty.
Oben Electric’s journey from a Bengaluru-based startup to a pan-India presence reflects the broader shift toward sustainable mobility. With more models in the pipeline and network expansion on track, the company is well-poised to build on this 3.2 crore km foundation and capture a larger share of the evolving E-2W landscape.
