JSW MG Motor India has unveiled the MG Hector Tomahawk as the Official Car of the Indian Super League (ISL) for the 2026-27 season, marking yet another milestone on the back of the company’s recently acquired title sponsorship of the league. The announcement was made public on 9th October 2026, with the new-age car symbolizing the league’s new beginning as the competition kicks off under the banner of MG Indian Super League.
The association with the ISL marks an important milestone for the brand’s engagement with the sport, with the powerful vehicle set to become a staple of the campaign, visible to fans at all 13 ISL stadiums. Special zones have been earmarked in each stadium on match days, where fans can go up close to the vehicle and interact with the brand in a vibrant stadium atmosphere, creating a lasting impression of the car’s powerful exterior and dynamic appeal.
The association with ISL also has in-built performance incentives, with the Player of the Tournament set to drive away in the MG Hector Tomahawk. The star performer in every match will also receive the ‘MG Hector Tomahawk Most Electrifying Player’ award, which will be presented on-field and telecasted and streamed across digital platforms, with mentions on the league and clubs’ social media platforms, enhancing the reach of the campaign.
The new-age vehicle will be a familiar face at the league’s stadiums, with its presence further amplified by special showpieces and activations on match days, ensuring that the car’s powerful exterior stays at the forefront of fans’ minds, even as they enjoy the beautiful game.
The Chief Commercial Officer of JSW MG Motor India, Vinay Raina, said, “The MG Hector Tomahawk has a powerful exterior and a dynamic appeal, much like the electrifying performances of the league’s best players. By naming it as the official car of the ISL, we look to celebrate these performances while engaging with fans meaningfully at the stadium, where we believe the passion for football is at its peak.
“The announcement comes ahead of the commencement of the 2026-27 season, which will begin on 10th October, with Bengaluru FC hosting Sporting Club Delhi at the Sree Kanteerava Stadium and FC Goa taking on Chennaiyin FC at the Fatorda Stadium. The association is part of JSW MG Motor India’s larger football ecosystem, which includes partnerships with clubs across continents, including Liverpool FC and Arsenal, among others. The company has been keen on associating with the sport at various levels to enhance its engagement with the game, with the latest campaign being the latest innovation to leverage the growing popularity of the ISL across the country.
