Mahindra XEV 9S Interior Teased Ahead of November 27 Launch

Mahindra has released multiple teasers of the upcoming XEV 9S set to debut on November 27. Here’s what the teasers reveal about the electric SUV.

Mahindra Automotive continues to build excitement around the upcoming XEV 9S electric SUV, set to launch on 27th November. Previously, the XEV 9S teaser gave a glimpse of the exterior of the vehicle while hiding the details. The latest teaser highlights the interior features of the XEV 9S.

Mahindra Electric Origin SUVs has released the latest teaser of the XEV 9S on its official YouTube channel. The video shows the SUV’s interior equipped with 5 screens, including three screens at the front and two screens for the second row passengers. Another video released by the brand begins with a close-up of a Harman Kardon-branded speaker grille, hinting at a 16-speaker premium audio system similar to the XEV 9E, further enhanced by Dolby Atmos surround sound.

As Mahindra ramps up the anticipation for its first authentic seven-seater electric SUV, the XEV 9S, the latest interior-focused teasers have peeled back the layers on what promises to be a tech-laden, family-friendly cabin. Built on the company’s INGLO skateboard platform—shared with siblings like the XEV 9e and BE 6—this electric powerhouse is designed from the ground up for EV efficiency and spaciousness. With the global debut just days away at the ‘Scream Electric’ event in Bengaluru, these glimpses suggest the XEV 9S could redefine premium electric mobility for Indian families.

A Triple-Threat Dashboard and Beyond

At the heart of the XEV 9S’s cockpit lies a striking triple-screen setup, comprising three 12.3-inch displays: one for the driver’s instrument cluster, another for the central infotainment system, and a dedicated passenger-side screen for entertainment and navigation. This layout mirrors the futuristic dashboard seen in the XEV 9e but is tailored for the seven-seater’s more expansive interior. Flanking these screens is a distinctive two-spoke steering wheel, wrapped in premium leatherette and illuminated with the Mahindra ‘infinity’ emblem, adding a touch of sophistication to the all-black theme that sets it apart from the lighter upholstery in its five-seater counterpart.

The teasers also spotlight a panoramic sunroof—branded by Mahindra as the ‘Infinity Roof’—that floods the cabin with natural light, enhancing the sense of openness in what is already a generously proportioned space. Thanks to the flat-floor INGLO architecture, the XEV 9S offers clever flexibility, including sliding second-row seats that can be adjusted for third-row access or extra legroom. This feature, combined with a seven-seat layout, positions it as a practical alternative to the petrol-powered XUV700, but with zero emissions and smarter packaging.

Rear-Seat Luxury Meets Entertainment

Mahindra’s strategy of staggered reveals has saved some of the best for last. The most recent clip, dropped on social media with the caption ‘Space for Everything,’ confirms dedicated holders for rear entertainment screens in the second row—likely a BYOD (Bring Your Own Device) system akin to the XEV 9e. These foldable mounts allow second-row passengers to secure tablets or compatible displays, turning long journeys into movie nights for the kids. It’s a thoughtful nod to family travel, especially in a market where multi-row SUVs dominate.

Audio purists will rejoice at the close-up of the Harman Kardon speaker grille, teasing a 16-speaker setup with Dolby Atmos immersive sound. This system, already a highlight in Mahindra’s EV lineup, promises concert-hall acoustics throughout the cabin, complete with roof-mounted speakers for even distribution. Ambient lighting strips and metal accents further elevate the lounge-like vibe, while expected additions like ventilated, powered, and massaging front seats, triple-zone climate control, and wireless chargers round out the comfort quotient.

Tech and Safety Under the Hood

Beyond the visible luxuries, the XEV 9S is poised to pack a punch in connectivity and safety. Level 2 ADAS features—such as adaptive cruise control, lane-keep assist, and collision avoidance—are on the cards, backed by a 360-degree camera, seven airbags, and tyre pressure monitoring. An electronic parking brake with auto-hold adds to the effortless driving experience, and the power-assisted tailgate will make loading family gear a breeze.

While full powertrain details remain under wraps until the launch, insiders expect the XEV 9S to inherit the XEV 9e’s dual-battery options: a 59 kWh pack for up to 542 km of range and a larger 79 kWh unit pushing 656 km on a single charge (ARAI-certified). Fast-charging capabilities, potentially up to 175 kW, could replenish 20-80% in under 30 minutes, making it highway-ready for road trips.

Priced tentatively between ₹21 lakh and ₹30 lakh (ex-showroom), the XEV 9S aims to slot into the midsize premium EV segment, rivaling the likes of the Tata Safari EV (if it materializes) and imported seven-seaters from Hyundai and Kia. Its bold, blocky exterior—complete with stacked LED headlamps, aero-optimized wheels, and a closed grille bearing the Mahindra Electric badge—complements the interior’s modern ethos.

The Road to Revolution

Mahindra’s EV journey, kickstarted with the BE 6 and XEV 9e last year, has already shaken up the market. The XEV 9S builds on that momentum, blending Indian ingenuity with global tech partnerships (including Volkswagen’s MEB-inspired components) to deliver an SUV that’s as versatile as it is visionary. As the November 27 reveal approaches, these teasers aren’t just hype—they’re a promise of electric evolution. Will the XEV 9S charge ahead to become India’s go-to family EV? Only a test drive will tell, but for now, the buzz is electric. Stay tuned for the full unveiling.
