Mahindra to Deploy 180 kW Ultra-Fast Chargers Across Indian Highways, Targets 1,000+ Points by 2027

Mahindra & Mahindra has taken a major step toward eliminating range anxiety for electric SUV owners in India by announcing the rollout of 250 high-power charging stations under its new “Charge_IN” network. The company aims to create over 1,000 ultra-fast 180 kW charging points by the end of 2027.The first two Charge_IN stations were inaugurated on Monday at strategic highway locations:

  • Hoskote on National Highway 75 (Bengaluru-Chennai corridor)
  • Murthal on National Highway 44 (approximately 50 km north of Delhi)

Each of these flagship stations is equipped with two 180 kW dual-gun chargers, enabling four electric vehicles to charge simultaneously.

20-Minute 20-80 % Charging for Mahindra eSUVs

Mahindra’s 180 kW chargers are designed specifically for passenger electric four-wheelers and deliver genuine ultra-fast performance. The company claims its current and upcoming electric SUV portfolio (including models based on the INGLO platform) can be charged from 20 % to 80 % in under 20 minutes when using these stations.

Highway-Focused Network with Lifestyle AmenitiesUnlike many existing charging points located in city centers or malls, Mahindra is deliberately placing Charge_IN stations along major national highway corridors. Each location will be co-located with restaurants, cafes, restrooms and other amenities to make long-distance EV travel more comfortable.Nalinikanth Gollagunta, CEO – Automotive Division, Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd., said:

“With Charge_IN we are building a reliable, high-speed charging backbone that will give confidence to customers for inter-city and highway travel. This network is open to all electric four-wheelers, not just Mahindra owners, because widespread infrastructure is key to faster EV adoption in India.”

Open to All Brands, Seamless App Experience

While Mahindra eSUV owners can discover and pay for Charge_IN stations directly through the existing “Me4U” app, owners of other EV brands can access the network via the dedicated “Charge_IN by Mahindra” app or through popular third-party charging aggregators.Mahindra customers already enjoy access to approximately 34,000 public charging points pan-India through the Me4U app; the new Charge_IN stations will be integrated into the same ecosystem.

Aligning with National EV Goals

The aggressive expansion supports the Indian government’s push for robust public charging infrastructure under schemes such as PM E-Drive and FAME-II. By focusing on high-power 180 kW chargers on highways, Mahindra is directly addressing one of the biggest remaining barriers to mass EV adoption: convenient long-distance travel. With the first stations already operational and a clear roadmap to exceed 1,000 charging guns by 2027, Mahindra is positioning itself as a major infrastructure enabler in India’s electric mobility journey, beyond just manufacturing vehicles.
