Mahindra is highly expected to debut the updated BE 6 born-electric SUV at its traditional mega event on August 15, 2026. The annual Independence Day showcase typically features new model launches, concept reveals, and strategic announcements, and this year’s lineup is anticipated to include the refreshed BE 6 alongside other highlights such as the Scorpio-N facelift.

The BE 6, Mahindra’s stylish coupe-SUV from its Born Electric range, is underpinned by the INGLO platform. This purpose-built electric architecture benefits from Mahindra’s collaboration with Volkswagen, under which the Indian automaker sources key electric components and unified cells from VW’s MEB technology for its INGLO-based vehicles.

The most talked-about upgrades centre on the cabin. Expect a massive new pillar-to-pillar triple-screen dash layout, similar to the setup already offered on the related XEV 9e and XEV 9S. This replaces the current dual 12.3-inch display arrangement and is expected to enhance both aesthetics and functionality. Complementing the screens is a premium Obsidian Crimson micro-suede cabin theme, aimed at elevating the already distinctive interior with richer materials and a more upscale ambience. Ergonomic refinements to the cockpit are also anticipated.

Powertrain details are expected to remain largely unchanged. The BE 6 will continue to offer 59 kWh and 79 kWh battery options, delivering claimed ranges of approximately 556–557 km and up to 683 km respectively, paired with a rear-mounted electric motor producing up to around 286 hp and 380 Nm.

These updates are viewed as a model-year refresh rather than a full mid-cycle facelift, designed to keep the BE 6 competitive in the rapidly evolving midsize electric SUV segment. Full official details, pricing (if revised), and availability are expected to be revealed at the August 15 event.
