Kia India has released an engaging teaser video on its official X handle, introducing the upcoming Sorento in what the brand describes as its most advanced expression yet. The clip centres on the Kia AI Assistant powered by Live Generative AI, a system that delivers real-time information and intelligent assistance on the move, transforming questions into answers and curiosity into discovery. Pre-bookings for the three-row SUV are already open through dealerships and the company website.

In the video, a person steps into the driver’s seat of the Sorento and immediately begins a natural conversation with the AI assistant. Unlike conventional voice-command systems limited to pre-set instructions, this Live Generative AI technology supports fluid, conversational interactions while providing continuously updated real-time data. Kia positions the India-spec Sorento as the first model in its global line-up to introduce Live Generative AI and the first Sorento worldwide to receive the feature, claiming it as a pioneering technology for the Indian automotive industry as well.

Connected-car capabilities have grown steadily more important in the Indian market. Many vehicles already allow drivers to control climate settings, operate the sunroof or perform other functions through voice commands. The Kia AI Assistant aims to elevate this experience by enabling more personalised, intelligent and context-aware assistance that feels less like issuing orders and more like engaging in a helpful dialogue.

The Sorento itself is scheduled for official launch on 4 September 2026 and will serve as Kia’s new flagship internal-combustion-engined model in India, marking the company’s entry into the premium three-row SUV segment. It will be offered with a strong-hybrid powertrain featuring all-wheel drive—Kia’s first hybrid SUV and first ICE model with AWD in the country—alongside a diesel option, giving buyers meaningful choice. Production has already begun at Kia’s Anantapur facility in Andhra Pradesh, with the first locally built unit rolling off the line. The SUV is expected to be available in six- and seven-seat configurations and is anticipated to be priced competitively in the premium segment, potentially in the ₹30-40 lakh range depending on variant and specification.

Additional expected features include a dual-screen digital instrument cluster and infotainment setup, Level 2 ADAS suite, 360-degree camera, panoramic sunroof, ventilated seats, powered tailgate and other comfort and safety technologies. Kia India Managing Director and CEO Gwanggu Lee has described the model’s arrival as a defining moment for the brand’s premium portfolio in India, highlighting both its global pedigree and the introduction of Live Generative AI as an important milestone.

With the teaser now live and production underway, the Sorento is clearly being positioned not only as a spacious, capable family SUV but also as a showcase for the next level of in-car intelligence. As Indian buyers continue to seek more connected and convenient driving experiences, Kia’s Live Generative AI Assistant may well set a new benchmark for how drivers interact with their vehicles.
