The South Korean automaker has teased what it calls its “biggest EV yet”, promising a world premiere that highlights state-of-the-art electric technology, including an advanced 800V charging system for ultra-fast recharging capabilities.
While Hyundai has kept the model’s official name under wraps, the teaser image provides strong clues. It features a full-width LED light bar and the Hyundai logo positioned just below it — a signature design element of the Staria MPV, Hyundai’s futuristic people-mover already available in international markets with combustion and hybrid powertrains.
The Staria’s spaceship-like styling, wide panoramic windows, and premium interior make it a standout in the MPV segment. At 5,253 mm in length, it clearly outscales Hyundai’s current largest EV, the Ioniq 9 three-row electric SUV (around 5,060 mm long).
An electric Staria would fill a significant gap in Hyundai’s lineup, offering families and fleet operators a spacious, versatile people-mover with zero-emissions driving. It could draw inspiration from related models like the Hyundai ST1 electric van (with a 76.1 kWh battery and rapid charging), potentially featuring a larger battery pack — rumors suggest up to 99 kWh — for improved range and practicality.
The Brussels event won’t stop at this big reveal. Hyundai will also mark the European debut of the updated Ioniq 6 sedan, featuring aerodynamic tweaks, enhanced interior tech, and digital upgrades for even better efficiency and user experience. Additional highlights include a dedicated N Zone showcasing high-performance models like the IONIQ 5 N and IONIQ 6 N, plus creative concepts such as the gaming-inspired INSTEROID based on the compact Inster EV.
This showcase underscores Hyundai’s aggressive push into electrification across Europe in 2026, expanding from compact options like the Inster to flagship models. The January 9 press conference, led by Vice President of Product Raf Van Nuffel, is expected to provide more details on this “biggest EV yet” and the brand’s broader roadmap.
