Expanding Green Quick Commerce Deliveries In Delhi-Ncr, Bengaluru, Mumbai, Hyderabad And Pune Ahead Of Festive Season.Electric mobility platform Bijliride announced its partnership with Flipkart Minutes, Flipkart’s quick commerce arm, to deploy an electric vehicle delivery fleet in the five metro cities ahead of the festive season. The collaboration will see electric two-wheelers being deployed in the last-mile delivery segment in Delhi-NCR, Bengaluru, Mumbai, Hyderabad and Pune. The initiative will offer a demand-based approach wherein the fleet size will vary according to the supply of deliverymen and the volume of orders, thus preventing any form of wastage. The rollout will begin in phases and will aid Flipkart in achieving its target of going fully electric by 2030
Bijliride operates a large electric two-wheeler fleet of over 6,000 vehicles across the country. Under the partnership, it will provide commercial rental plans to the delivery aggregators without any upfront payment to the delivery riders. The latter will also have access to battery swapping stations and door-to-door battery delivery, which will keep the vehicle downtime to the minimum. Fleet maintenance, roadside assistance, and telematics-based vehicle tracking will be offered as a part of the package, so as to keep the vehicles on the road for extended hours. This will help, especially, the gig workers to generate higher revenues during the festive season, as compared to the regular two-wheelers.
The special festive pricing along with prioritized access to vehicles will facilitate cost savings for the delivery executives. At the same time, it will also ensure that the operations performed by Flipkart Minutes do not slow down, due to the high demand for products during the festive season. By offering such convenience, Flipkart Minutes will be able to scale its operations in the five metro cities during this period, while also promoting green and clean transportation in the process.
The partnership will also position electric two-wheelers as the preferred choice for all kinds of commercial logistics operations, especially in terms of quick commerce and e-commerce.
