The Indian electric two-wheeler market is set for a new entrant as Bengaluru-based deep-tech startup E3 Electric.AI prepares to officially unveil its first electric scooter, the Trion, on August 6, 2026.Positioned as India’s first “intelligent” family electric scooter, the Trion marks E3 Electric.AI’s commercial entry into the competitive EV scooter segment. The company has already secured the mandatory CMVR Type Approval Certificate from the Global Automotive Research Centre (GARC) and has listed the vehicle on the government’s Vahan portal, clearing the path for bookings and registrations to begin from August 6.
Key Highlights of the Trion
- AI-powered features: The scooter is built around a proprietary AI stack that includes a 10-second vehicle health scan before every ride, predictive diagnostics, real-time monitoring of battery and motor health, and alerts for potential issues.
- Modular platform: Designed on a modular chassis that can support multiple variants and future battery upgrades without a complete redesign.
- Family-oriented design: Spy images and company statements describe a practical layout with a flat floorboard, comfortable seating with pillion backrest, and features aimed at everyday family use.
- Battery options: Expected to offer multiple battery packs ranging from around 2 kWh to 4 kWh, paired with a hub-mounted electric motor.
- Additional smart features: Likely to include cruise control, park mode, and AI-enabled safety functions such as pothole detection and predictive maintenance.
Funding and Launch Plans
Ahead of the launch, E3 Electric.AI raised ₹100 crore in a Series A funding round (75% equity and 25% debt), led by BluVenture Holdings along with strategic angel investors. The funds will support product engineering, manufacturing scale-up, and commercial rollout.
The company plans to start with Bengaluru as the first market, followed by expansion across southern India and a wider national presence through dealerships.
Founded in 2024 by P. Sanjeev, E3 Electric.AI focuses on building affordable, intelligent, and modular electric scooters targeted at both families and everyday commuters. The Trion is being marketed as a practical alternative for riders who might otherwise consider a conventional 110cc petrol scooter.With regulatory approvals already in place and bookings set to open on August 6, the Trion is poised to make its official debut and add a new technology-driven option to India’s fast-growing electric two-wheeler landscape.
