Ather Energy’s charging network has crossed a significant milestone, surpassing 5,000 fast chargers across India, enabling greater confidence for electric two-wheeler owners on both urban and long-distance journeys.
As the network has grown past 5,000 chargers, city density has improved naturally with adoption. This expansion, announced in early January 2026, includes over 3,675 fast chargers operated directly by Ather Energy under the Ather Grid brand, supplemented by more than 1,400 additional points through partner networks—all compatible with the Light Electric Combined Charging System (LECCS) standard. The infrastructure now spans over 395 cities, making reliable fast charging more accessible in metros, tier-2 and tier-3 locations alike.
Alongside this urban strengthening, Ather has been equally intentional about extending charging beyond city limits. Especially on highways and intercity routes, where gaps show up quickly and shape how confidently people attempt longer rides. Strategic placements along high-traffic corridors have addressed “range anxiety” for two-wheeler users, turning previously challenging trips into predictable, hassle-free experiences.
Today, Ather owners can ride across multiple long routes with predictable fast charging along the way. Key examples include:
- Up the west coast, from Kanniyakumari to Ahmedabad — connecting southern Tamil Nadu through Kerala, Karnataka, Goa, Maharashtra, and Gujarat.
- Delhi to Dehradun — facilitating travel through the National Capital Region into the hills of Uttarakhand.
- Bengaluru to Tirupati — a popular pilgrimage and weekend route via Andhra Pradesh highways.
- Chandigarh to Agra — linking northern plains, including key stops along expressways.
These routes demonstrate how Ather’s focus on highway and intercity coverage has matured, with chargers positioned at fuel stations, restaurants, hotels, and service points for seamless stops. The LECCS interoperability also allows access to partner chargers from brands like Hero Vida, Matter, Bolt.Earth, Kazam, and EVamp, further enhancing network density without forcing users into silos.
This milestone aligns with Ather’s long-standing commitment to scaling infrastructure in tandem with vehicle sales—unlike expectations that charging might lag behind retail growth. As electric two-wheelers gain traction for daily commutes and longer adventures, the expanded grid supports broader EV adoption by making ownership more practical and stress-free.With continued emphasis on fast, reliable public charging (delivering up to significant range addition in short stops), Ather is positioning India’s electric mobility ecosystem for sustained growth. Riders can locate these points directly via the Ather app, monitor status in real-time, and plan trips with confidence as the network keeps expanding.
