Bengaluru-based electric scooter maker Ather Energy has crossed the significant milestone of 7 lakh cumulative retail sales in India, becoming only the fourth electric two-wheeler manufacturer to achieve this feat after Ola Electric, TVS Motor Company, and Bajaj Auto.
According to Vahan data, Ather has delivered 7,04,447 units to customers as of June 25, 2026, since it began sales in 2018.
Rapid Growth Phase
The company’s growth has accelerated sharply in recent months. Ather sold its most recent 2 lakh units in just eight months, demonstrating strong momentum and rising consumer acceptance of its premium electric scooters.
A major driver of this growth has been the Ather Rizta, which currently accounts for nearly 75 percent of Ather’s monthly sales. The family-oriented scooter has expanded the brand’s appeal beyond its traditional sporty Rizta and 450X customer base, helping the company penetrate deeper into the mass premium segment.
Strategic Significance
Reaching the 7 lakh mark places Ather firmly among the top electric two-wheeler players in India. While Ola Electric leads the segment by a substantial margin, Ather has established itself as a strong fourth player with a focus on technology, performance, and premium user experience.
The fast pace of the last 2 lakh sales indicates that Ather is successfully scaling up production and expanding its retail footprint across the country. The strong performance of the Rizta further shows that the company is effectively broadening its product portfolio to capture different customer segments.
With the electric two-wheeler market continuing to grow rapidly, Ather is well-positioned to build on this momentum as it expands its network and introduces new models in the coming years.
