Ather Electric Scooters Set to Become More Expensive from January 1, 2026

Ather Energy, a leading Indian electric two-wheeler manufacturer, has announced a price increase across its entire scooter lineup, effective January 1, 2026. The revision will see ex-showroom prices rise by up to ₹3,000, depending on the model. This adjustment comes in response to rising global costs, including higher prices for raw materials, fluctuations in foreign exchange rates, and increased expenses for key electronic components.

Ather currently offers two main scooter series in the Indian market: the performance-oriented 450 Series (including variants like 450X, 450S, and 450 Apex) and the family-focused Rizta. The 450 Series is known for its sporty performance, advanced features like Google Maps integration, and quick acceleration, while the Rizta emphasizes practicality with ample storage and comfort.

The Rizta, Ather’s first family scooter, has seen tremendous success, recently crossing the 2 lakh sales milestone and contributing significantly to the brand’s growth in new markets. It offers up to 56 litres of storage (including under-seat and optional frunk space), a wide seat, spacious floorboard, and advanced safety features such as SkidControl™, Fall Safe™, Emergency Stop Signal (ESS), and theft/tow alerts. The Rizta Z variant also received a major upgrade with touchscreen functionality announced at Ather Community Day 2025.

The company has stated that model-specific and city-wise revised prices will be announced closer to the implementation date. The hike applies to all purchases invoiced on or after January 1, 2026.For prospective buyers, December 2025 presents an excellent opportunity to purchase at current rates and maximize savings. Ather is running its popular “Electric December” campaign — now in its third year — offering benefits worth up to ₹20,000 in select cities. These include instant credit card EMI discounts, cash incentives, financing options, and even complimentary extended battery warranties (such as the Eight70™ eight-year coverage on select models). This limited-period promotion underscores Ather’s commitment to value, reliable software updates, and strong after-sales support.

With electric two-wheelers gaining popularity in India, this modest price adjustment reflects broader industry challenges like global supply chain pressures. However, Ather’s ongoing innovations, expanding fast-charging network (Ather Grid), and strong sales momentum — especially with the Rizta — position the brand well for continued growth in 2026.If you’re considering an Ather scooter, visiting an Experience Centre or checking online platforms like Amazon and Flipkart before the year ends could help you secure the best deal!
