Ampere, the electric two-wheeler brand from Greaves Electric Mobility, has rolled out a significant technology upgrade for its popular Magnus G Max electric scooter. The updated model is priced at Rs 1,09,999 (approximately Rs 1.10 lakh) ex-showroom and introduces the new NxG.io software platform that unlocks more than 30 IoT-enabled connected features aimed at making daily commuting smarter, safer and more convenient.
The refreshed Magnus G Max now comes equipped with practical aids such as cruise control for relaxed highway or longer rides, hill-hold assist that prevents the scooter from rolling backward on inclines or in stop-and-go traffic, and turn-by-turn navigation displayed on a new 5-inch PMVA digital instrument cluster. Additional smart functions include Find My Scooter and Ping My Scooter for easy location in crowded parking areas, live vehicle tracking, geo-fencing, theft and tow alerts, real-time charging status, remote diagnostics, service booking, battery health insights and over-the-air software updates that allow the connected experience to improve over time.
Powering the scooter is a 3 kWh LFP battery paired with a 2.4 kW peak BLDC hub motor that delivers 130 Nm of peak torque at the wheel. Ampere claims an IDC-certified range of 142 km and a real-world range of more than 100 km, with a top speed of 65 kmph. The scooter offers Eco, Power and Reverse riding modes and can accelerate from 0 to 40 kmph in 6.5 seconds. Full charging takes about 7.25 hours, while an 80 per cent charge can be achieved in roughly 5.45 hours using the supplied 450 W charger.
Practical features remain strong for everyday use. The Magnus G Max rides on 12-inch wheels with telescopic front forks and dual rear shock absorbers, offers 165 mm of ground clearance, a 33-litre underseat storage space and a claimed gradeability of 12 degrees. The LFP battery is designed for a long service life of up to 2,00,000 km and is backed by a five-year or 75,000 km warranty, while the vehicle itself carries a three-year or 30,000 km warranty. A new Cinnamon Copper colour option joins the existing premium dual-tone choices, giving buyers more visual variety.
By packing car-like convenience features into an affordable electric scooter platform, the updated Ampere Magnus G Max strengthens its position as a practical alternative to conventional petrol scooters.
