Vietnamese electric vehicle manufacturer VinFast has officially discontinued the introductory pricing for its VF6 and VF7 electric SUVs in India, signalling the end of its initial market-entry phase. This marks the first major price revision since the brand launched in the country last year.
The price hike ranges between ₹80,000 and ₹1.30 lakh, depending on the variant. The larger VF7 has received steeper increases compared to the more compact VF6, reflecting stronger positioning and higher demand in the premium electric SUV space.
VF7 Sees the Highest Price Increase
The VinFast VF7, the brand’s larger and more premium offering, has absorbed the most significant corrections:
| Variant | Price Increase |
|---|---|
| Earth | ₹1.00 lakh |
| Wind | ₹1.20 lakh |
| Sky | ₹1.30 lakh |
Following the revision, VF7 prices now start at ₹21.89 lakh (ex-showroom) and go up to ₹25.59 lakh for the top-spec Sky Infinity variant.
Powertrain and Range
The VF7 is offered with two battery options:
- 59.6 kWh battery with a 175 bhp motor (single-motor setup)
- 70.8 kWh battery producing 201 bhp, available with all-wheel drive
The larger battery variant delivers a claimed range of up to 510 kilometres, making it one of the more competitive long-range electric SUVs in its segment.
Features and Technology
The VF7 comes equipped with several premium features, including:
- Panoramic glass roof
- 12.9-inch touchscreen infotainment system
- Powered driver’s seat
- Built-in air purifier
- Dual-zone automatic climate control
Market Impact
By ending introductory pricing, VinFast is transitioning from its launch-phase strategy to a more sustainable pricing model aligned with market realities, logistics costs, and long-term positioning. While the hikes may slightly affect entry-level affordability, the VF7 continues to offer competitive range, performance, and features in the fast-growing Indian EV SUV segment.
