Mahindra has once again highlighted the strong connection between its road-going electric SUVs and its Formula E racing programme by showcasing the BE 6 Formula E Freedom Edition at the London E-Prix. The special-edition model completed a hot lap on the legendary ExCeL London circuit, the same demanding track that hosts the season’s final races, setting a memorable standard for making an entrance on one of motorsport’s most iconic urban venues.

The BE 6 Formula E Freedom Edition, part of the updated Sporteq range, was introduced in India around Independence Day and simultaneously presented in London alongside Mahindra Racing’s GEN4 show car.

This dual appearance underscores the brand’s “race-to-road” philosophy, bringing elements of electric motorsport DNA directly into a production electric SUV. The Freedom Edition features subtle tri-colour exterior accents and a distinctive black-and-firestorm-orange cabin theme that pays homage to both the Indian flag and the team’s racing heritage.

Performance takes centre stage with an exclusive Acceleration Boost function that enables the vehicle to sprint from 0 to 100 km/h in 6.44 seconds. Powered by the range-topping 79 kWh battery and a rear-mounted electric motor producing 286 hp and 380 Nm of torque, the model delivers a claimed MIDC range of up to 683 km. Adaptive suspension and other Sporteq refinements further enhance its dynamic character while retaining everyday practicality.

By taking to the same circuit used by Mahindra Racing’s Formula E cars, the BE 6 Formula E Freedom Edition demonstrates the real-world transfer of racing technology and design inspiration. The moment captures the spirit of electric performance on one of the most challenging street tracks in the championship calendar, reinforcing Mahindra’s position at the intersection of road cars and pure electric motorsport.
