Ather Energy has officially revealed the name of its upcoming mass-market electric scooter and dropped a fresh teaser video. Co-founder and CEO Tarun Mehta shared the clip on X (formerly Twitter) on August 5, 2026, presenting the Ather Konarc
The short video teaser confirms the model’s name and shows key design elements of the production-ready scooter. It is scheduled for a global debut on August 29, 2026, at the annual Ather Community Day event.
The Konarc will be the first production model based on Ather’s all-new EL platform. This modular architecture was first shown as the EL01 concept at Ather Community Day 2025. It is designed to support different body styles, battery sizes (ranging from 2 kWh to 5 kWh), and price points, helping Ather expand into India’s high-volume commuter electric scooter segment.
Production of the new scooter has already begun at Ather’s manufacturing facility. The platform features a full steel unibody construction, a swingarm-mounted electric motor, telescopic front forks, and a single rear shock absorber.
The teaser and accompanying images show that the production Konarc stays largely faithful to the earlier EL01 concept, with a practical, family-oriented design rather than the sportier proportions of the Ather 450 series.Key visible features include:
- Handlebar-mounted headlamp
- Vertically styled front apron with a full-width LED daytime running light (DRL) and illuminated Ather lettering above it
- U-shaped LED DRLs at both the front and rear
- Long single-piece seat and spacious floorboard for everyday practicality
- Slim LED tail lamps integrated into the bodywork
- Alloy wheels (expected 14-inch front and 12-inch rear)
- Front disc brake (with drum likely at the rear on base variants)
- Telescopic fork suspension
It is also expected to feature a seven-inch TFT instrument console with smartphone connectivity.
The Ather Konarc is positioned as the brand’s most affordable electric scooter yet, targeting the mass-market segment. Expected pricing is between ₹1 lakh and ₹1.25 lakh (ex-showroom). It will compete with models such as the Bajaj Chetak, TVS iQube, Ampere Nexus, and Vida VX2. High-range and low-range variants are anticipated.
Full specifications, variants, pricing, and availability details are expected to be revealed at the Ather Community Day event on August 29, 2026. The Konarc marks a significant step for Ather as it aims to capture a larger share of India’s growing electric two-wheeler market with a more accessible, practical offering.
