Hyundai Motor India has introduced an Assured Buyback Program for the Creta Electric, aimed at addressing one of the biggest concerns among potential electric vehicle buyers: future resale value. Under the new program, customers can avail a 60 per cent assured buyback value for up to three years or 45,000 km (whichever comes first), offering greater confidence and financial assurance throughout their ownership journey.
Resale value remains a key barrier for many first-time EV buyers in India. By guaranteeing 60% residual value after three years or 45,000 km, Hyundai is providing a clear, upfront commitment that reduces uncertainty around depreciation. The offer is subject to standard terms and conditions, including vehicle condition and service history.Tarun Garg, MD & CEO of Hyundai Motor India, highlighted that the next phase of EV adoption will depend not only on technology but also on building customer confidence. The buyback programme reflects Hyundai’s belief in the Creta Electric’s quality, reliability, and long-term value.
The Assured Buyback Program comes just weeks after Hyundai launched its Battery-as-a-Service (BaaS) option for the Creta Electric. Under BaaS, the vehicle’s entry price drops significantly (starting from around ₹10.99 lakh, excluding battery), with customers paying a per-kilometre battery usage fee. Together, the buyback guarantee and BaaS model form a more flexible and lower-risk ownership package. Hyundai is also expanding its charging network, connected services, and overall EV ecosystem to support customers.
The Creta Electric currently retails between approximately ₹18 lakh and ₹25 lakh (ex-showroom), depending on the variant and battery pack. The new buyback assurance applies across eligible variants and is expected to make the popular electric SUV even more attractive to buyers weighing long-term costs.
With competition intensifying in the mid-size electric SUV segment, Hyundai’s move strengthens the Creta Electric’s value proposition. Assured residual value, combined with flexible ownership options like BaaS, could help convert more hesitant buyers who are ready for an EV but concerned about future resale. The Assured Buyback Program is now available at Hyundai dealerships. Interested customers are advised to check specific terms, eligibility, and documentation requirements with their nearest authorised dealer.
