JSW MG Motor India is set to expand its SUV portfolio with a brand-new model scheduled for launch on August 28, 2026. Expected to be called the Hector Hawk, the upcoming mid-size SUV will be the first vehicle based on the company’s newly unveiled ADAPT (Advance Drive Architecture Platform Technology) platform. It will be offered with both battery-electric (EV) and plug-in hybrid (PHEV) powertrains, marking an important step in MG’s electrified product strategy for India.
ADAPT is positioned as India’s first multi-New Energy Vehicle (NEV) architecture. It can support pure EVs, hybrids, plug-in hybrids, and range-extender electric vehicles on a common modular base. The Hector Hawk will debut this flexible platform in India, with both EV and PHEV versions planned.The SUV is based on the global Wuling Starlight 560 and is expected to offer a spacious three-row cabin, modern design cues (including rectangular LED headlights and wraparound taillights), and a tech-focused interior.

Plug-in hybrid version

- Electric-only range: Up to 125 km
These figures position the Hector Hawk as a practical choice for buyers seeking either full-electric driving or the flexibility of a long-range PHEV without range anxiety.
The Hector Hawk is expected to sit above the regular Hector in MG’s line-up. The PHEV version will target buyers looking for efficient hybrid performance, while the pure EV will compete higher up against established electric SUVs.Key rivals are likely to include:
